"Legends on Wheels" - extended until November 8, 2026 due to popular demand!

From the beginnings with carriage wheels to the automated truck - Gottlieb Daimler and Carl Benz revolutionised the transport of goods with ground-breaking innovations. As early as 1896, both developed the first vehicles for commercial transport, laying the foundations for motorised goods transport. The vehicles impressed with their reliability, flexibility and cost-effectiveness and successfully prevailed over traditional means of transport such as carriages, ships and railways.

In 1923, Carl Benz launched the world's first series-produced diesel lorry, and the rest is history. To this day, Mercedes-Benz Trucks offers a diverse and wide-ranging programme of commercial vehicles, from light trucks to tractor units for heavy haulage.

This impressive development can be seen in the special exhibition ‘Legends on Wheels - Pioneering Spirit, Innovation, Tradition’. In cooperation with Mercedes-Benz Trucks Classic, an extraordinary show of automotive legends from the years 1899 to 2024 will be presented until 5 March 2026. Experience at first hand what ‘Trucks you can trust’ means and how the Mercedes-Benz brand has shaped the development of commercial vehicles for decades.

From the Daimler Kardan lorry from 1899 to the workhorses of the economic miracle years to modern and sustainable concepts - here you can experience the exciting evolution of a vehicle segment that has changed our world.

This special show is a must for truck and engine enthusiasts. Let yourself be enchanted by the world of Daimler, Benz and Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles and experience the unique combination of pioneering spirit, innovation and tradition.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE SPECIAL EXHIBITION

From the very start in 1899 to the present, we present impressive milestones that impressively combine technology, design and innovation.

The highlights of the exhibition include:

  • Daimler Kardan truck from 1899: the oldest vehicle in the special exhibition. This exhibit will be overhauled in a glass workshop during the exhibition and will leave the museum on its own steam towards the end of the show.
  • The legendary Unimogs: Universal all-rounders that are appreciated the world over in agriculture, forestry, municipal services, emergency services, and civil protection. Among them is the Unimog Hound from the blockbuster Transformers: The Last Knight.
  • Mercedes-Benz Future Truck from 2014: study of a self-driving truck and at the same time pioneering technology for present-day developments.

Every Mercedes-Benz Truck model tells its own story: from the pioneering spirit of bygone days to the cutting-edge engineering of today. Due to popular demand, the special exhibition has not only been extended until November 8, 2026, but will also receive a content update on March 20, focusing on the Unimog, which celebrates its 80th anniversary this year.
